Issue: The Hestan Cue app forces users to update their app from an older version to a new major release. Upon pushing "Update" users are taken to the iTunes store and are not provided with an "update" button and are instead prompted to "open" the Cue app again. This effectively creates a loop where users aren't able to us the app and aren't able to update the app either. 




Cause: The update link takes you to our app in the iTunes Store instead of the App Store. The iTunes Store hasn't updated versions yet, so it simply brings you back to the current (old) version. This causes the infinite "update loop".  


Solution: When you're in iTunes store, tap on the "Store" button located towards the top right of the screen, and it will take you to the App Store where you can download the update as normal. 

Note that this issue should self-correct once the iTunes store refreshes it's version, at which point it should offer the update as well. 




If for some reason, the App Store (read: not the iTunes store) doesn't show the new version either, try the following:

  • Open the App Store.
  • Go to the “Updates” section of App Store
  • Tap near the top of the screen below the ‘Updates’ text, then hold and pull down, then release (to "refresh" the list)
  • When the spinning "wait" cursor finishes spinning, any new app updates will appear.


Alternatively, you can "delete" the Hestan Cue app from your phone or tablet, and then install a fresh copy of it. The new copy you download should be the latest version (v2.0.1).
